Why should LPG storage tanks be subject to airtight test?

Time:2022-09-06 Views:79
How to ensure the quality and safe use of liquefied gas storage tanks? Only through the air tightness test, flaw detection test, water pressure test, etc. under the quality assurance system. Only LPG storage tanks with good production process, complete quality assurance system, no leakage and meeting various standards can ensure the safety and reliability of use.

How does the production process ensure that the storage tank is airtight? Conduct air tightness test on storage tank equipment according to national, industrial and professional technical requirements:

1 Preparation before pressure test:

1. The equipment, pressure gauges, valves and other tooling and measuring tools used in the pressure test shall be identified and within the validity period.

a. Equipment and tooling shall be in good condition;

b. Safety accessories, safety devices and valves shall be installed completely;

c. The measuring tools and pressure gauges shall be regularly verified according to relevant national regulations, and the pressure gauges shall be provided with qualified lead seals and inspection certificates; The range of the selected pressure gauge should be about 2 times of the test pressure, not lower than 1.5 times of the test pressure and higher than 3 times of the test pressure;

d. The pressure grade of the valve used shall meet the requirements of the test pressure. The valve of the liquefied gas storage tank shall be intact and free of leakage, and the opening and closing shall be flexible;

e. The use of pipes shall ensure the safety of pressure test, and the inside of pipes shall be free of sundries and blockages to ensure smooth flow.

2. Gas and temperature during air pressure test

a. The gas used in the pneumatic test is dry and clean air, nitrogen or other inert gases.

b. The gas temperature used in the pneumatic test shall not be lower than 15 ℃ or as specified in the design drawing.

3. The sundries and oil stains in the container shall be removed before pressure test.

4. The withstand voltage test can only be carried out with the approval of the supervision and inspection personnel.

5. The reinforcing ring shall be filled with 0.4-0.5mpa compressed air before the pressure test to check the quality of welded joints, and it is qualified if there is no leakage.
