Use and operation of LPG semi-trailer

LPG semi-trailer, also known as LPG transport semi-trailer, LPG transport vehicle, LPG tank truck, etc., is a transport vehicle used to transport liquefied gas, which is a flammable and explosive gas. It is very important for the correct use and operation of the LPG semi-trailer. The following is a professional operation guide from Chengli Special Purpose Vehicle Co., Ltd. LPG vehicle manufacturer.

1. Connection of semi-trailer and tractor
(1) Before connecting, pay attention to whether the tractor is compatible with the semi-trailer and avoid the following undesirable conditions: a. The height of the semi-trailer‘s traction pin does not match the height of the traction seat. b. The front and sides of the semi-trailer are in contact with the tractor when turning, which affects the turning.
(2) Check whether there is sand, dust or other foreign matter on the surface of the tractor seat and the semi-trailer traction pin and traction pin plate, and whether there is enough grease.

(3) Connection of traction seat and traction pin

a. In order to connect smoothly, the support device should be operated to make the semi-trailer traction pin plate compatible with the height of the tractor traction seat. Generally, the semi-trailer traction pin plate is about 10-30mm lower than the center position of the tractor traction seat, otherwise sometimes Not only can it not be connected, but it will also damage the traction seat, traction pin and related parts.

b. Operate the locking mechanism of the traction seat (depending on different traction seats, see the manual of the tractor for details) to open the locking block, and then check whether the locking block is opened in a free state.

c. Reverse the tractor, make the semi-trailer traction pin distribution through the V-shaped opening of the traction seat enter the opening of the locking mechanism, and then the traction pin pushes the lock to rotate, and the lock block locks the traction pin.

When the tractor is reversed, the centerline of the tractor and the semi-trailer must be consistent. Generally, the deviation of the two centerlines is limited to 40mm or less, and the angle between the two centerlines is limited to within 5° when fully loaded, and within 7° when empty.

d. Check whether the lock block of the locking mechanism of the tractor seat locks the traction pin, and whether the lock is safe and reliable.

e. Move the tractor forward slightly to check whether the connection is in good condition.

(4) Air connection

a. Connect the two air joints on the tractor to the two air joints on the semi-trailer respectively. At this time, the inflation pipeline of the tractor must be connected with the inflation pipeline of the semi-trailer, and the operating pipeline of the tractor must be connected with the operating pipeline of the semi-trailer, and it must not be mistakenly connected (the red pipeline of the semi-trailer is the inflation pipeline Connector, the yellow pipeline is the operation pipeline gas connector.)

b. After the air connections are connected to each other, unscrew the semi-trailer gas circuit connection disconnect switch on the tractor to make the air circuit in a ventilated state, otherwise the brake system of the semi-trailer cannot be supplied with air and the brake system cannot work.

c. Start the engine, observe the barometer in the cab, and increase the pressure in the air tank of the tractor and semi-trailer to the specified pressure (generally 800-900KPa)

d. Check if there is any air leakage in the air circuit, and check if the brake system is working normally.
(5) Circuit connection

a. Insert the wire connection plug of the tractor into the wire connection socket at the front of the semi-trailer.

b. Check whether the wires are well connected, confirm whether the lights are working normally, and replace the wiring of the power supply if necessary.

2. Cargo

Before the container truck is loaded with the container, the turn lock head to be used should be turned to a position that completely overlaps the lock seat and fixed, and then the container is correctly placed on the semi-trailer, and then turn the turn lock handle to make the lock head and The lock seat vertically locks the container. Before unloading the container, turn the swivel lock to a position that completely overlaps the lock seat and fix it. After confirming that the container is not locked, the container can be unloaded.

3. Driving

(1) Getting started

a. Operate the support device correctly, retract the extension to the top, and make sure it is in the low-speed gear, and then press the crank into the hook.

The crank handle of the support device is in high gear when it is pushed in, and it is in low gear when it is pulled out. When shifting at high and low speeds, the handle should be gently shaken, and the handle should be in place when pushing in or pulling out the handle to ensure that the gears are properly meshed. For lifting and lowering, when the base is in contact with the ground, the low-speed gear must be used, otherwise a malfunction will occur. After the base is disconnected from the ground, the high-speed gear will be used.

b. Check whether the tire pressure is the specified value.

c. Check whether the spare tire is correctly placed on the spare tire lifter and whether the nut is locked.

d. Check whether the air pressure of the air brake system is within the specified range (650-750KPa). Only when the air cylinder pressure reaches 550KPa can it start.

e. Open the hand valve to completely release the brake.

f. If the air pressure of the air brake system drops excessively, the brake will work automatically under the action of the emergency relay valve, so that it can not start, so please pay attention to the operation.

(2) Driving: After the above operations, you can drive. The driving is generally the same as a car. When going down a long slope or a steep slope, to prevent the brake drum from overheating, try to use the tractor engine mechanical brake device for braking.
4. Separation

(1) Separate semi-trailers and tractors on flat and solid ground should be selected as far as possible. For example, when the foundation is soft or the asphalt pavement is separated in summer, a thick plank should be placed under the base of the support device to prevent failure to rebuild due to the sinking of the load. Connection, etc.

(2) Close the hand control valve to fully brake the brake.

(3) Turn off the semi-trailer gas connection disconnect switch on the tractor first, and then remove the air charging and operating joints of the tractor from the semi-trailer.

(4) Unplug the plug from the wire connection socket of the semi-trailer.

(5) Operate the supporting device and continue to rotate the crank after the base of the supporting device is on the ground, and lift the semi-trailer to some gaps so as to exit the tractor.

(6) Operate the locking mechanism of the traction seat to open the locking block.

(7) Slowly drive out the tractor to separate the tractor pin from the tractor seat to separate the semi-trailer from the tractor.

(8) After separation, check whether there are any abnormalities in each part of the semi-trailer, and unscrew the drain valve at the bottom of the air storage cylinder to drain the water accumulated in the cylinder.
