The development direction of China‘s auto parts technology

Now the technological advancement of auto parts is not simply reflected in the improvement of product performance, but more in the arrangement and combination of many parts. From the perspective of the technical sources of the auto parts industry, some technologies are derived from the industry, and many technologies are derived from outside the industry. For example, the penetration of digital and electronic technologies into the auto parts industry has largely changed the car. Parts are primarily a traditional understanding of mechanical structural parts. The integration of auto parts technology is mainly manifested in two aspects, one is the modularization of parts and components, and the other is the penetration of new materials and new technologies.
 
 First, the modularization of auto parts
Modularity is the combination of components and subsystems. It refers to the combination of components and systems in a car to form a highly integrated large component with multiple functions. Take Delphi‘s modular door as an example, it integrates multiple subsystems and components such as electric windows and doors, anti-theft, rearview mirror adjustment, lighting, side airbags, and audio. Modularity not only bears part of the design and manufacturing responsibilities, but also reduces the cost burden of the OEM, so that the vehicle manufacturers are more focused on improving the performance of the vehicle.
 
At present, the better modularization is the companies such as Volkswagen, Delphi and Toyota. The modular system development and supply will also be the development trend of auto parts. Therefore, China should also step up research and development on the modularization of auto parts, in order to support the whole vehicle in more aspects. At present, Passat, which is produced by Shanghai Volkswagen No. 3 Plant, has taken the lead in modular assembly, forming four modules – the door, the cab, the powertrain and the front wall module. Each module has corresponding tests at the end of assembly, ensuring electrical And system reliability of mechanical functions.
 
Second, the penetration of new materials and new power technologies
 From the perspective of materials science, the impact of new materials on automotive components is undoubtedly huge. The use of new materials will further improve the mechanical properties of components, the weight of the entire vehicle and the safety and reliability of the vehicle. For example, to improve the strength and toughness of automotive structural materials, to make it more robust and reliable, in the event of a traffic accident such as a crash or rollover, it can minimize the damage and ensure the safety of passengers. The lightweighting of parts and components not only saves energy and reduces emissions, but also improves the performance of the entire vehicle.
 
From the perspective of new power technologies, the exhaustion of traditional energy sources will certainly promote the development of new energy technologies. The current new energy power technology is also a hot topic in the near future.
